The missing piece
Most of San Jose's pools predate the era when spas came standard — builders in the '60s and '70s poured the pool and called it done. Adding a gunite spa to those pools is now one of our most common South Bay projects: tied into the existing plumbing where equipment capacity allows, structured against the existing shell, and finished so precisely to match that it reads as original.
The climate makes the case better than we can. South Bay evenings run cool most of the year — a gunite spa turns January, and every other month, into backyard season.
We also build standalone spas for yards without pools: raised with stone veneer, sunken flush into a deck, or spools that add enough length for a plunge. Every design starts in 3D.
Structured against your shell, tied into plumbing, finished to match — the signature South Bay job.
Elevated with a spillway into the pool — the classic resort composition in tile and stone.
Level with the deck for modern yards — clean lines, no hot-tub silhouette.
For yards without pools — compact footprint, year-round use.
Gas heaters ready in minutes or heat pumps for frequent soakers — sized honestly, app-controlled.
Plaster, tile and coping matched to your existing pool so nothing looks added-later.
Often yes — if your equipment has capacity or gets upgraded as part of the project. We test the existing system before promising anything.
Most additions run $30k–$55k depending on structure, finish and whether equipment upgrades ride along. Standalone spas and premium finishes range higher — all itemized.
Typically 6–10 weeks including San Jose permitting; additions on existing equipment run shorter.
We match what your pool should look like — most additions pair with a replaster so pool and spa finish together, in the same drain. It's the cost-efficient path anyway.

"Creative Edge Pools & Spas came in and did an amazing job taking off some water heaters for our roofing company. They took extra care to ensure no damage to all the components of the heating system and took precautions to tarp over pool equipment at the bottom. Furthermore they went the extra mile to ensure they didn't put up just any pvc for the installation after roof was installed. Edgar went out of his way to special order a very specific type of PVC material to ensure code compliance and a leak free system that will last for years to come! Will be using his services again! Thank you to the helpful staff over at Creative Edge Pools & Spas"
